Unite for Literacy

Unite for Literacy encourages bilingual reading of stories for children (which could be ideal for low-literacy adult learners). It also encourages children to read to their parents, and parents to read to their children, creating stronger bonds.

After clicking on the homepage, you will find a lot of books available. Open one of them, and you can read and listen at the same time. 

English File (Students)

Oxford University Press’ English File helps students to learn more English, with interactive exercises, useful downloads, games, and web links.

You can also practice grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, and reading, as well as having some fun. There are several different levels and editions to choose from, helping you advance your English.

BBC Learning English

BBC Learning English is a general ESOL website with a variety of information, including grammar, pronunciation, exercises, videos, weekly quizzes, a children’s section, and a teachers’ section.

BBC Learning English also includes ‘real conversation’ articles to strengthen everyday English and podcasts.

Cambridge English

Cambridge English has lots of free online activities to help teenagers and adults practise their English language.

You can choose the skill you want to practise and the level that’s right for you.

One Stop English

One Stop English includes lesson plans, worksheets, flashcards, audio, and video files for English language teachers.

There are several levels, including: children, teenagers, adults and professional development.

Open University

The Open University offers free online resources for Ukrainians settling in the UK and Ireland. The resources range from free courses in the English language to articles on mental health and wellbeing. Each course offers a free statement of participation on completion, and there are also some external links to key refugee support organisations with useful resources towards.

British Council

The British Council offers resources for adults who speak English as an additional language.

The webpage includes skills, grammar, vocabulary and even an online English test.


Maths

Maths is Fun

Math is Fun explains maths in an easy way, and includes puzzles, games, and worksheets.

The resources range from simple maths to university-level problems, and a page for teachers. There are also sections applicable to everyday life, such as money and measurements.

Emaths

Emaths gives support and resources for teaching and learning maths. Resources cover all levels, from Key Stage 1 to GCSE level.
