Regional Organisations

  • International Community Organisation of Sunderland (ICOS) – ICOS provide advice, and advocacy, including support with accessing benefits, services such as schools and GP practices, and looking for employment.
  • Red Cross – Red Cross have an ongoing Refugee Support Ukraine Response program specifically tailored to address the needs of the community in the North East. For referrals or information on the project, please contact the Main Office in Stockton-on-Tees at 07725 205483 and 07938 736327.
  • Investing in People and Culture (IPC) – Ukraine support programme for Ukrainians living in Teesside and North Yorkshire, particularly English language support, integration and activities, as well as some housing and employment advice. For further information, contact Mark at 07783 517870.

National Organisations

  • Ukraine Advice Project UK – A group of legal professionals with immigration / asylum background and expertise are providing free UK legal advice to Ukrainian citizens affected by the current crisis.
  • RESET have launched a sponsorship matching service. They also have an events page which contains information on upcoming events for sponsors and guests.
  • Red Cross is one of the charities supporting people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine who are now in the UK. They also have information for people who have lost contact with family during the conflict here.
  • Barnardo’s have set up the Ukrainian Support Helpline to provide a holistic support service. The Helpline is available to anyone fleeing to the UK as a result of the war in Ukraine.
  • World Jewish Relief provide humanitarian assistance in towns and cities across Ukraine, through the network of local partners. They also help refugees and people who have been internally displaced by the ongoing conflict.
  • Citizens Advice provide information on the Homes for Ukraine scheme to help support hosts in the process of singing up.
