Support in Amharic and Sidamo from the Ethiopian Community in Newcastle
- Provides entry into a social network to help people feel less isolated
- Organises group activities and gatherings to share experiences and learn from others while feeling understood. Promote feelings of belonging, purpose, levels of happiness and reduce stress, imrpove self-worth and confidence activities
- Helps with information and guidance about things to do in the area and about how things work in UK
- Opportunities to use their skills by volunteering to help the community, such as helping to run English classes, or adult activities such as football, craft classes etc
- Introduction to support services in the area and to learning opportunities to improve their skills to help with intergration
- Support with reporting hate crime and liasing with the Police
