Myth Buster Resources

The North East Migration Partnership has worked with Police and Crime Commissioners from across the region to gather a myth busting fact sheet on asylum and migration.
The information aims to focus on the true facts, and to dispel commonly believed myths and outdated information about refugees and asylum seekers.
Click the button below to view the online 3-page version of the fact sheet.
Please note there is also a 2-page version that will be physically printed in flyer format. This 2-page version features the same information but it has been simplified for printing. It can be found electronically here, however if you would like copies of the leaflet please get in touch by emailing nemp@middlesbrough.gov.uk
While the information featured in our fact sheet has all been linked for reference on the last page of the full document, below you can find useful resources from Refugee Action, Refugee Council and Education North Tyneside, delivered by North Tyneside Council.
These resources all focus on myths in migration and may offer additional information and context, further to the information NEMP and the region’s Police and Crime Commissioners have provided. Please click on the buttons below to read through the information.
Myth Busting ‘Z card’
The Mary Thompson fund has been working to reboot a previously circulated myth busting Z card from 2015. This handy resource was previously extremely popular due to it’s collapsibility making it easy to carry around in a wallet or in your pocket. The Mary Thompson fund has been working on redesigning and printing an updated version and has received funding to print 35,000 cards for the North East.
NEMP will provide further details when this resource is ready to be circulated.
